Discover God’s Goodness When Life Doesn’t Go as Plannedഉദാഹരണം
Faith Isn’t at the Finish Line
Faith isn’t something that takes hold of us and then we’re good. Faith isn’t something we choose once—but something we commit to every day.
You might find yourself facing pain, uncertainty, and fear, whispering up to heaven the only words that feel honest: “But I didn’t sign up for this.” Know this truth: The enemy wants you defeated. The enemy wants you grieving.
Let’s rise like Jochebed and choose life and faith. In the moments of his first cry, Moses’s life became rearranged. The river would not consume him. His mother’s faith stood strong against the waves of doubt.
Faith isn’t the finish line because God isn’t finished with you or me. God has plans for your life. Because of His sovereign goodness, God will sometimes allow disruptions to help strengthen your faith. Even in the hardest parts, we can choose to have faith in God’s goodness and His sovereignty.
If you find yourself facing a river of uncertainty, may you remember this: The river of fear doesn’t have to ruin your faith. Will you experience doubt? Yes. Will you question God’s plan? Yes. Will you be afraid? Possibly. These things don’t diminish your faith.
I used to believe that faith replaced fear. Instead, Jochebed has taught me that faith and fear can stand side by side. Faith can hold fear’s hand and tell her, “It will be okay.” God is in the middle of our fears with the faith we need to stay afloat.
If we are to see God’s hand, faith is required at the very beginning of our journey. We don’t want to wait until we’ve reached the end of this Christian life to have faith. We can start having a settled faith today—not in our abilities or circumstances, but in a faithful God. Remember it isn’t our faith that is the key—it is Who we have faith in! The disappointing seasons have the ability to deepen our belief in this truth: God is faithful. Right now, today.
You might not have anything to offer God right now. There might be shattered dreams lying at your feet. The world seems like it is moving on, but you are stuck here picking up pieces of a life you didn’t want.
The truth is, you don’t have to have the answers to have faith. Believe God, even in the deep waters.

This wasn’t part of the plan. The story wasn’t supposed to go this way. I didn’t sign up for this. If you’ve ever had these thoughts, chances are that your story has shifted in some unexpected way. This five-day devotional by Sarah Frazer looks at Moses’ story to help you discover how God is working in the twists and turns in your story.
