Part of Jesus’ Last Requestഉദാഹരണം
OUR SINS WERE BLOOD-BOUGHT!
Jesus did His part on the cross and paid a mighty price for the ability to forgive us of our sins.
When we allow our minds to hang on to that which we have been forgiven, it is almost like a slap in the face of God because we aren’t acknowledging the horrific price He paid to forgive us.
Let us depend on scripture to reassure our minds how much our sins cost:
“For we were bought with a price. So, glorify God in your body.” I Corinthians 6:20
When we continue to hang on to sin after we have been forgiven, we certainly are not glorifying God with our bodies.
Because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. I Peter 1:16-19
You and I are foreigners on earth and Jesus did not redeem us with silver or gold but through His blood. He wants us to trust the forgiveness that cost Him His life. To accept His forgiveness is living in the freedom He so desires us to have. When we hang on to old sins, we keep ourselves enslaved to them.
“In Him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” Ephesians 1:7
