Preparing for Vows: A Plan for Engaged Couplesഉദാഹരണം
That from this day forward, you shall not walk alone.
One of the most beautiful and exciting parts about marriage is that you get to walk together for the rest of your lives. You get to have a partner through all the days of the rest of your life. You quite literally have a forever wedding date, an always hang-out partner, and someone to be with you as you walk through life.
Ecclesiastes tells us that two are better than one. It gives us a vision for building each other up, meeting each other's needs, and obtaining victory through teamwork.
What do you want this to look like in your own marriage? What do you think it means to make sure your spouse “does not walk alone”?
In this partnership, you can lift each other up. When one of you feels weak or defeated, the other one can strengthen you and build you up. You can work together to be effective for God’s Kingdom, and you can be stronger together.
After you say “I do” no longer do you have to operate life’s circumstances on your own. You will have a teammate every step of the way. You will share in household responsibilities, maintaining community, and all other things adulting requires.
Challenge: What are 3 ways you want your spouse to “walk with you” in life? Pray about this and decide three things that are important to you and that give you vision for your spouse walking with you. Share those three things with your fiancé(e), and ask them to also share three ways they want you to walk with them.
