Words Bring Hope

Liars were maligning the needy. The flattering lips of the liars were filled with deception and with their words they sought to obscure the truth. The wicked people described in this psalm are so crafty that they felt invincible!

It is clear that these liars have very little, if any, compassion on the needy. Instead, they exploit and plunder them with no concern. God sees and He says, “I will now arise. I will protect them from those who malign them.” He is the ultimate protector.

Our speech is meant to reflect our heart. If our heart is filled with God, then what comes out of our mouths should be godly. When we lie and deceive people, we are rejecting the way that God wants us to live, and instead we are using our words for self-gain.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Words are cheap”? That phrase is a lie. Words, especially words that are deceptive, are very costly. We lose trust and integrity.

Words that are encouraging have intrinsic value and can mean a great deal to a person in need. Use your words to bring hope, encouragement, and peace to a person in need today. When you see abuse or oppression, speak up in truth.
