Elevation Rhythm: Growing Pains Devotional ഉദാഹരണം
ALL ALONG DEVO
Lyrics
How could a lifelong dream
Seem to be so far
But what I thought was at the top has always been beside me
It was You all along
It was You all along
Have you ever felt guilty for not measuring up to that one person?
You know the one…
The one who seems able to turn everything they touch into gold? The one who “just gets it,” “makes it look easy,” or “is a natural”?
Sometimes, we can’t help but feel inadequate. When we scroll on social media, all we see is that new car, that meal at an expensive restaurant, that new pair of $500 sneakers, and we think that one person must be doing something we’re not.
Maybe they are (most likely, they have their own issues they’re dealing with), but one thing is for certain: Everyone wants to succeed at what they do. Where things become tricky, though, is when we prioritize fleeting success over the eternal joy that comes from Jesus.
Galatians 1:10 tries to reorder our priorities, saying, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Jesus even modeled this for us. He had it all, but He left it behind and came down to Earth so we could be with Him. It’s in His nearness that we rejoice, not in our accomplishments or possessions, but in His presence.
Here it is in His own words:
“Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:23-24
With Him, it’s never been about the stuff. It’s been about the posture of our hearts. It’s up to us to find joy where it truly matters, and to make sure we don’t prioritize our own plans over the plans God has for us.
