Work Is A Gift Of Graceഉദാഹരണം
God’s Workmanship
The Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Ephesians that we are God’s workmanship. We are His handiwork, created through the person of Christ. Did you ever consider yourself to be God’s workmanship? This is who you are through Christ; you had nothing to do with it. This is grace.
You were created for good works. This a true and wonderful purpose statement for your life. God not only gives you the work, but He also gives you the place to serve Him through your work. This means that the term “full-time ministry” refers to anyone who works. Your workplace is an arena where you serve. A pastor serves Christ in the church, the missionary on the mission field, the doctor in the clinic, the lawyer in the courthouse, the employee in the workplace, and the stay-at-home mom at home. By His grace, all who work are in service to Christ.
God has already prepared good works for you to do. The world is a theater of God’s glory and our work here on earth has value to Him. We are called to serve and although your workplace or title can change, the calling remains. We are God’s workmanship to do good works: the good work we do in our individual workplaces is a form of serving Christ.
We serve the Lord through our work. There is a reward awaiting us for this faithful service. This reward is not due to our own merits but because we serve the Lord Christ. It is an act of grace on His part to give that reward. We are servants of Christ. The place where we spend the majority of our waking hours is the place where we are called to serve Him faithfully and with excellence.
It is time that we begin to see our work as a gift of grace that is from a good and gracious God.
“Heavenly Father, allow me to see myself as Your workmanship, and to serve You through my work. Give me an understanding of Your calling over my life so that I may serve You faithfully and with excellence. Thank You for the work You are doing in me. It's in Your name we pray, amen.”
