Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

Isaiah saw the Lord in his glory. Three things he saw about the Lord:

1. The Lord was high and exalted. He was above Isaiah’s life and situation. He held a position that Isaiah probably never saw before.

2. He saw the Lord seated on a throne. He was not standing or walking or sleeping, but seated.

3. The train of his robe filled the Temple.

To worship God we need to see these aspects of God. He is high above anything and any person. He has the pre-eminent position over all of his creation. And ultimately everything will come under his rulership. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that he is Lord.

God is not flustered by what goes on in our lives. He is seated. One sits down after completing a task. On the cross, Jesus finished all the work of salvation and said, ‘it is finished’. Jesus, too, is seated at the right hand of the Father.

The glory of God permeates his clothing. The woman with an issue of blood got healed just by touching the hem of Jesus’s robe. The anointing and power on Jesus permeated his clothes to enter into the woman who touched his robe in faith. Isaiah sees the train of the Lord’s robe filling the Temple. You and I and the Church today are the Temple of God - we are the receptacle of his glory.

In our journey to be extravagant worshipers today, we need to see that God is high above our circumstances, having everything under his control and extending his glory to this world through us, the Church. Will you thank God for this and by faith, receive all that God has for you?
