Worship in the Workplaceഉദാഹരണം
Not Pretentious
God is Spirit, and His worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. - Jn 4:24
There is a constant struggle within us to be more holy and it feels like God's standards of holiness are impossible to achieve. As a result of our understanding of holiness, we tend to forget the truth. The truth is that God has already achieved righteousness for us. - Acts 13:38, 39; Rom 1:16, 17; 3:25, 26
Martin Luther also speaks about 'passive righteousness' saying, we cannot do anything more to receive that righteousness – it is a free gift from God. So, if we are worshipping Him in Spirit and truth, we need to accept His truth and His gift of righteousness. As we reflect on this beautiful truth, we are led to worship God.
What sometimes tends to happen is that we feel like we are not ‘enough’ and then we either act like we are enough or we try to earn God's approval by doing what we think He expects from us. The simple fact is that God wants us to be ‘real’. We just have to be our honest, broken selves and rest in the knowledge that He is transforming us into His image, as we worship Him in truth.
‘Only God can give us a selfless love for others, as the Holy Spirit changes us from within. This is one reason we must receive Christ, for apart from His Spirit we can never be freed from the chains of selfishness, jealousy, and indifference. Will others see Christ's love in your life today?’ - Billy Graham
Day 6 Challenge: Try to be ‘real’ today. Sometimes, as Christians we feel like we need to put on a ‘show’ and pretend to be something we are not, so that people will see that we are different. Sometimes we really try hard to ‘earn’ God's favour, forgetting that He has already done everything for us. In our worship, while at work – can we learn to open up to the people around us? Let them see our flaws, see that we struggle – just like they do. And in that struggle – as we worship God in truth –His strength will shine through our weaknesses.
Father, enable us to come to You with our real selves, so that all the glory goes to You alone.

God didn’t build a Church and place man there to worship Him – instead, He created a garden, and put man there to work in it. Imagine if we could see our workplace through God’s ‘glasses’? Imagine how God can then use us in the workplace! Take up these 7 challenges with Zippora and see your workplace change into a worship place.
