Mantra - Five metaphors for how to live a Gospel lifeഉദാഹരണം
Day 7 - Living it Out
The last thing Jesus did before ascending into Heaven was to communicate The Great Commission to His disciples, so it must have been important to Him that His disciples knew what to do next and how. After Jesus commissioned them, He said, “...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” We have to empty ourselves so we can be filled up with His ways—His joy and peace and hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15) .
In Hebrews 12 it says, “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” and endurance comes from His Spirit. We share in suffering with those running alongside us and share in each other’s joy when we cross the finish line.
Each mantra points us back to Jesus, but the good news doesn’t just stop at Jesus. Matthew wrapped up his Gospel account by rallying around the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
God’s Spirit living in us should be even greater than Jesus’ physical presence here on Earth. As believers, one of the most important things we can do to live out our faith is to recognize that the Spirit who lives in us is the same Spirit who was in Jesus.
Our hope is that these five mantras unite us to run the race. We want His Word to be rooted in our souls and our worship to be a living sacrifice. Aware of His Spirit, we’ll do whatever it takes to get others (and ourselves) before the feet of Jesus and commit to the hard work that ultimately reveals His glory.
Prayer
God, may we run with endurance the race You set before us. Give us willing hearts to rise to the task You’ve called us to. May we be the body of Christ, confident in our identity that’s found in You. I pray that we would step into the authority given to us by Your Spirit and believe in its power not only when we reach eternity, but also here and now.
Thanks for walking through our reading plan. We would love to hear how God has used this in your life and keep the conversation going. Send us an email at keeptalking@secc.org.

The Bible is full of powerful metaphors and word pictures to help us not only understand who Jesus is, but who we are and how we can relate to Him. Because when we know who we are, we will know what to do. During this seven day reading plan we will look at five Mantras of Jesus that will encourage, motivate, and direct the church in the years to come.
