Prophecy: Jesus & His Birth - Preparing For Christmas Series #2ഉദാഹരണം
Messiah would be declared the Son of God
Thoughts on the Passage
This is a difficult prophecy for some people to accept. God called Jesus His Son – and did so long before Jesus was born. When Jesus was baptized by John, God again declares Jesus as His beloved Son.
Part of the problem is understanding what is meant that Jesus is the Son of God. In John 3:16 we get an understanding through the word “begotten”. Begotten does NOT mean “born of someone [i.e. a father and mother]”. Instead, it means “being of the same class or kind.” This is like two people of the same nationality, occupation or gender. We say they are same even though they have significant differences.
Second, Jesus was born of Mary and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, the Son of God, took on human form. He is the Son of God – even though He was born of the Spirit of God. This was a promise from God fulfilled to send us a Deliverer who would be able to set us free. There was no other capable of deliverance except God Himself – and so He came.
Time to Pray
Father, You sent us Your Son as our Messiah – our Deliverer. He came because there was no other way that salvation could be released to us. Thank You for sending Jesus. Thank You, Jesus, for coming. We acknowledge that there was no other way for it to happen. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
