HAVE A GOD-CENTERED PLAN

As important as humility is, you will also need a plan as you move ahead. This reflects God, who created us in His image. We, too, are well served when we have a plan – a God-centered plan – and with humility, we hold it loosely. The key is allowing Him to lead the way.

God is less concerned about the change in our outer lives than He is about change in our inner lives. The more our desires change to align with God’s will, the more we will live for an eternal crown filled with jewels like love, peace, trust, obedience, purity, and grace.

I charge you to think of yourself as an athlete with clear eyes and open ears. Go into strict training for the purposes of God. A God-centered plan keeps the will of God as the goal. A plan to develop bigger biceps or thinner thighs isn’t terrible in and of itself, but without the purposes of God at the center, that goal could turn us into carrot-chasing rabbits who run in nauseating circles.

It’s wise for us to check our hearts with God when making any plans or goals to be sure they are from Him and are not our attempt to force Him to give us what we want when we want it. Any plans we make that move ahead of God, or any work we do without the approval of God will lack His provision.

Don’t waste your time or add any hurt to your life – seek God’s plan and wait on His timing.
