7 Days of Joy for Women

DAY 3 OF 7

Faith from Prison to Palace

During his years of imprisonment in the dungeon of Pharaoh’s palace, Joseph easily could have given up hope. He could have gotten stuck in sadness and self-pity, assuming that his fate was sealed and there was no hope of leaving prison. After all, he had correctly interpreted the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners, yet the one who was promoted forgot about his promise to help exonerate Joseph.

Joseph could have thrown in the towel, especially since he had been wrongly imprisoned in the first place due to the deception of Potiphar’s wife. He could have thought, Woe is me. Life’s so unfair. God must have forgotten me. I guess I’m in this prison for good.

Yet Joseph knew that God was in charge, working all things together for his good. And God will do the same for us if we keep our hearts right.

Maybe God is working on your behalf, but you can’t see it right now. Even if the enemy is trying to steal, kill, and destroy in your life, God promises that he will work all things together for your good. And having wisdom will help you cling to the hope of that promise.

Heavenly Father, thank you for holding the events of my life in your sovereign hands. Though I may stumble and fall, you do not forget me, even in the darkest valley. I put my trust in you alone, and I joyfully wait for the unfolding of your divine plan. Amen.

Go share the joy today!
