Day 18: Walking in Humility
Focus Scripture:
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” – James 4:10
More than ever before, God is demanding humility from us. In a world that celebrates self-promotion, humility can feel like a radical expectation to live up to. Yet, it is our humility that aligns us most closely with God’s will and way.
When we humble ourselves, we open the door to greater opportunities—not for our own glory, but to bring honor to God. Humility shifts our focus from personal achievement to recognizing that everything we have and do is by God’s grace. It allows us to see how God is working in and through us, even in the smallest moments.
As we make humility a cornerstone, we become more receptive to His guidance and more willing to step into the roles He has prepared for us, knowing they are for His purposes, not our own. Ultimately, humility deepens our connection to God and makes room for His power to work more freely in our lives.
Reflection Prompt:
- What areas of your life need more humility?
- How can you humbly serve others in a way that reflects God’s glory today?
Call to Action:
Take a humble step today, perhaps by serving someone in need, putting someone else’s needs before your own, or admitting when you don’t have all the answers.
