Day 17: Releasing Fear and Stepping into Courage
Focus Scripture:
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” – 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear is one of the most common barriers that keeps us from stepping into the opportunities God has set before us. It can paralyze us, making us doubt our ability or questioning whether we’re really called to a particular task. Whether it’s fear of failure, fear of success, fear of being misunderstood and misjudged, or simply fear of the unknown, it’s easy to shrink back when faced with something that feels too big or too risky.
When we align ourselves with God’s order, we begin to see that fear doesn’t have the final say. God's perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and when we choose to trust Him and His plan, we can step forward with a confidence that doesn’t come from our own strength but from His.
As we align with God’s will and choose to move in faith, He supplies the courage we need to act boldly, even when the path ahead seems uncertain. The opportunities may still feel daunting, but we can move forward with assurance, knowing that God has already prepared the way and equipped us for what He’s called us to do. Fear loses its grip when we place our trust in the One who holds all things in His hands.
Reflection Prompt:
- What fears are currently holding you back from taking the opportunities God has placed before you?
- How can you remind yourself that God has equipped you with power, love, and self-control?
Call to Action:
Write down one fear that’s been holding you back. Then, pray over it, asking God for the courage to move forward in faith. Step into an opportunity today, trusting that He is with you.
