Ephesiansნიმუში

Read verses 10 and 11. Paul makes it clear there is a battle to fight and there is an enemy. He calls us as followers of Jesus to strengthen ourselves in God. How do we do this? By putting on the full armor of God.
The full armor we are instructed to put on means that as God sends us out, we are sent out fully equipped with everything we need to stand in whatever battle we are sent into. As children of God, we will face spiritual warfare. It is not something we will have to seek out but simply we will face.
Our battle is against principalities and powers, not flesh and blood. Their goal is to undermine our unity and new humanity in Christ. They are still created by God, limited in power, submitted under the authority of Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:24 tells us they have an end, that there is a purpose to their work and it will come to an end. Ultimately, our victory is rooted in the works of Jesus, not our own doing.
We will look more tomorrow at what it means to take action and stand in strength with the armor of God.
