Ephesians

DAY 36 OF 42

In the second half of Ephesians, Paul talks about what it means to take off our old humanity and put on our new humanity. Chapters 5 and 6 get really practical on how we as the Church, one body and one family under the rule of Christ, can live under the influence of the Spirit, instead of continuing in the actions of our old humanity. There's a specific emphasis on elevating others as more important than ourselves.

Paul looks at the relationships between parent and child, and between master and servant. As both child and servant walk in obedience and give their best efforts (not just when watched), none of their work will go unrewarded. All of our work is ultimately unto the Lord. For parents and masters there is great responsibility to train each other up in God’s ways and to serve each other in the process.

What would it look like for all the work that we do this week to glorify God and serve one another?
