DAY 8 OF 15

The next time you go outside, find a small rock somewhere nearby. Take time to hold it in your hand. Feel how even the smallest of stones is made to sustain and stay strong. That’s the thing about rocks: No matter where they are, what they go through, or how nature unfolds around them, they last. Through past, present, and future, they remain. Why are we getting this little geology lesson? Because it’s a great reminder of all the Bible says about God. See, Scripture promises us that God is the eternal Rock. He lasts forever—as in for all time. That means that, in the past, present, and future, God is indestructible, sturdy, trustworthy, and dependable. God is the one thing we can count on to stay the same no matter what happens in life. That makes Him the best source of the strength we need to move forward and press on—not just now, but for all time.

Take time this week to reach out to a trusted person and fellow believer in your life. This could be your spouse, your parent, your small group leader, or a close friend. Ask them how they trust and count on God. Then ask them to pray that you would be able to depend on God in the same real, lasting way.

About this Plan

Press On

When we face struggles, we’re told to persevere. It’s actually easier said than done. Pressing on and persevering under the weight of hard times in life is not so simple. We have to learn how to press on just the way God calls us to. In this devotional, we’ll look at what it really means to follow God’s call to press on in our lives and in our faith.
