[Wisdom for Kids] the Purpose of Proverbs

DAY 4 OF 7

Wisdom Looks Good on You

Wisdom brings grace and honor to our lives (Proverbs 1:9). Just listening to wisdom won’t make a difference, but putting it into practice will.

If your dad says, “Don’t watch that show,” it’s because your dad knows that show has images and ideas that do not please God. Your dad is sharing his wisdom with you because he loves you and wants you to have a successful life.

If you hear that your friends are watching that show, you might be tempted to do the same. But if you follow the advice your father gave you, it will make you stand out from the crowd in a positive way.

God’s wisdom in our lives will help us do what is right, just, and fair, making us successful. Wisdom will beautify your life for God’s glory—that is everlasting!

(Parents/adults – How have you put God’s wisdom into practice in your life? How has it made a difference for you? Has living a life of integrity made you stand out in a crowd? Talk to your child about what it means to live with integrity—doing the right thing even if no one is watching.)

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I want to make Your name known where I am. I want to live out Your wisdom, so when others see me, they see You. In the name of Jesus, amen.
