DAY 23 OF 30

God's Passionate Love for His Bride

The Bible contains a lot of parallel scriptures depicting God's love for His bride. Here are a few that parallel with the reading today:

"Set me as a seal upon Your heart,
As a seal upon Your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire.
Many waters cannot quench love,
nor can the floods drown it" (Song of Solomon 8:6-7).

"And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee" (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

"But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

"For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God" (Deuteronomy 4:24).

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).

Question: What are some things that make you doubt God's love for you? Reflect: Can they indeed separate you from God's love?

Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, that Your love overcame death, crushed the grave, and encircles me as a ring of fire. Yet it is a seal and reminder in my heart of Your faithfulness. Please teach me to love You so fiercely that I would be willing to lay down my life in complete and utter surrender, for Your love will never end and will only last forever. Amen!
