Beyond: Living UnshakableSample

Growing sensitive to Holy Spirit’s leading in our life will also cause us to become unshakable, and grow our roots deep in love. Perhaps when you read the title of this devotional, Beyond: Living Unshakable, you were moved to subscribe. You followed a nudge and urge to live unshakable. I believe it was God calling you to be fortified and strengthened by Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit prompted you, you responded. Now, here you are reading what the Lord has for you! Becoming deeply rooted in who you are in Jesus Christ and growing unshakable!

Holy Spirit has been around since the beginning. Holy Spirit has been known to make the weakest, strong. Read the life of Gideon in Judges chapter six. Holy Spirit will also move powerfully upon someone, just as He did David in 1 Samuel 16:13. In Joel chapter two, Joel prophesied Holy Spirit would be poured out upon all people. As Jesus lived, breathed and walked upon this earth, He said that He must depart in order for Holy Spirit to be sent. After the resurrection of Jesus, He instructed the disciples to wait until the Gift was sent. This gift was the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit provides so much in order for us to become unshakable: wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear of the Lord (see Isaiah 11:2). Perhaps the most vital provision? Holy Spirit seals our salvation within us and sheds the love of God abroad in our hearts. What a great God! He calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and then He provides the very source necessary to do so through Holy Spirit. Phenomenal!

Today, sit with the Lord and allow Him to search your heart for a moment. Be encouraged to ask:

Lord, do I know Salvation has been sealed by Your Holy Spirit within me?

Lord, do I know I have received Holy Spirit baptism?

Lord, if I have been resisting and quenching Your Holy Spirit, what next step might I take to receive and walk in the gift Jesus said would arrive once He ascended to our Father?

With God’s grace and Holy Spirit leading, resolve to grow beyond comfort zones and live unshakable by determining to be more intentional about growing more sensitive to Holy Spirit in your life.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I invite You into my life. I invite You to lead, comfort and guide me. Thank You for pouring love into my heart, and causing me to love God and others. Thank You also for wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge. Jesus, thank You for making the way for Holy Spirit to live within and among me, through Your life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension. I pray I receive the fullness of Holy Spirit as You intended. Thank You Jesus, amen.
