What Can You Do?

DAY 3 OF 10

Have you ever been asked to do something that you felt like you weren’t equipped to do? Or maybe someone asked you to do something that seemed way too easy for you, and you knew you had even more to offer? God will never ask us to do something that we are unable to do. He created us and knows how much we are each capable of doing.

Jesus told a story about how people are given as much responsibility as they are capable of handling, and it is up to each of us to use our gifts and abilities wisely. We shouldn’t sell ourselves short and only do the bare minimum, but at the same time, taking on too much responsibility or a task that is too hard for us to do alone isn’t wise either. If God has given you a talent for organization, ask someone if they need help organizing something. If you’re talented at art, offer to paint a picture for a friend who’s sick. If you’re good at baking, make some cookies for your neighbors. Each of us should serve by taking what we’ve already been given from God and use it to help others.

Challenge: Today we challenge you to serve using something you already have: your talents, money, time, or resources. Ask God to help you see what He’s given you and use those things to serve others. If you are struggling to identify a skill or talent you have, be sure to talk to a trusted friend to help you.

Day 2Day 4

About this Plan

What Can You Do?

You may look at the problems around you and wonder, "What can I do?" Jesus calls us to see a need and meet that need. We are to serve others. Over the next 10 days, we'll take a look at what it means to serve and what that looks like.
