SUPPORT EACH OTHER
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
Everyone needs hope, especially in tough times. That is why in the Bible, hope is juxtaposed with faith and love. These three are central to Christianity. But how can we have hope in an era where it is almost hopeless? It is in this time precisely that hope should flourish and be strong. In good times, hope might not be needed, but in difficult times everyone needs hope.
How can hope grow in a hopeless world? Difficulties in life can cause us many failures. And difficulties can also force us to try to find the source of true and trustworthy hope, that is God himself.
This was the reason why Paul sent such beautiful blessings to the congregation in Rome. He said, “May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace in your faith, that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will be abundant in hope.” (Romans 15:13) Paul wanted each church to strengthen one another's faith, so that they might gain comfort and strength from each other through prayer and relationship with God.
What a beautiful and peaceful life we can experience, what great hope to look to, if we brothers and sisters sustain each other in the love of God.
