DAY 3 OF 8

BORN AGAIN

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. (Romans 6:13)

In a village, a young man became famous because he liked to lie. It was so well-known that the villagers called him the king of lies. One day he was sick and felt he would die soon and asked all his relatives and friends to approach him so he could deliver his parting message. With a panting breath he said, “I'm sorry that I've been lying and cheating. But now I am dying, and I cannot lie anymore. I kept a treasure in a trunk, and I buried it under a mango tree in front of the house." Then he died.

Everyone hurried to the place mentioned in his last message. They dug and found a crate. They could not wait! Everyone wanted to see what kind of treasure he kept. But when they opened it, there was only a piece of paper that said, ”This is my last lie ..."

Without being born again, there will be no change. True, outward change comes from a heart which is changed by the power of Jesus Christ.

Sin no longer holds power over us when we are born again. The bondage of sin and its influence is ended with our union with Christ who redeemed us.

Everything that is right will continue to emerge and radiate out from the life of a person who experiences new birth.
