Running From The Heart

DAY 6 OF 31

Rebecca’s Dream

God can tell you what it means and set you at ease. (Genesis 41:16, NLT)

The verse above refers to a dream that Pharaoh had about the future, which came true. God uses dreams throughout the Bible to speak to His people.

Sometimes God can speak to us through our dreams today.

In our darkest hours, we received an invitation from our dear friends, who not only opened their hearts to our overwhelming grief, but also invited us to their peaceful home in Mexico.

Watching a beautiful sunset, Rebecca’s brother Ben pointed out seven wild horses walking in a line along the golden beach. It took my breath away because I sensed it had something to do with Rebecca and not just because she loved horses.

On returning to the US, I read these words in one of Rebecca’s journals.

I dreamt last night that I owned a horse I loved, and in my dream, I was riding my horse with about seven others and I was the last one in the line.

Through the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in His providence, I sensed God comforting me that Rebecca is safely home with Him and her brother Alex! A friend later shared her own dream of Rebecca riding a horse in heaven! I am undone!

Selah

I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this? (John 11:25-26, NLT)

Every so often, God gives us a glimpse of the bigger picture. Yes! it’s a mystery, but our mysteries are miraculously answered in the unmatched name of Jesus.

Do you fear death and, if so, what conclusion have you reached in light of the scriptures above?

Passing the Baton:

Keep your heart open to God’s voice.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that my life with you will go on forever. Thank you that the source of all joy is being in your presence both now and always. Amen.
