Running From The Heart

DAY 9 OF 31

Wisdom

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

At the start of each new day, Rebecca ran to the heart of God. Her priority was,

“To love Him first and foremost. To put Him first above anything else.”

Rebecca prayed each day for wisdom and understanding to make the most of every opportunity.

No one knows when our time is up, and Alex going home shocked Rebecca into the realities of Heaven. It took her to a deep place of understanding her days in the context of eternity. It pushed her to understand the eternal value of her decisions.

Matthew 16:27 says, For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what they have done.

We all live for something. But it is not wisdom if that something is not God. Wisdom teaches us that our life is a mist, and every breath that we breathe should be to please God.

“The first way to please God is to love Him with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength. This is wisdom.”

When bad things happen, we might feel like running away, but Rebecca learned that through these times, the wise thing to do is to run to God.

“God has our days numbered... they are His, God is sovereign. The key is to trust God.”

Selah

Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalm 139:16, NLT)

Each day is a gift from God and may hold a surprise. Don’t be afraid to face the uncertainties of each day. Whether happy or sad, know that God is merciful, redemptive and does not make mistakes. He is your past, He is your future and He is with you today. Develop a wise heart by keeping the first priority first and steward your time, your gifts and your opportunities for the glory of God.

Passing the Baton:

Embrace the eternal importance of your decisions.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, teach me your wisdom today in how to live to bring glory to your name. Thank you that this day is already written in your book, and please help me to choose to walk today in all the things you have prepared for me. Amen.
