A Difference Maker’s Ministry

In Kenya, there is a place called the Maasai Mara. It is a national reserve, a grassland area where there are no billboards, no fences, no power lines, and very few people. Instead, there are lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, baboons, and many other creatures. It is a very beautiful place. The reserve borders the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. 

A difference maker went on safari there. He discovered that his guide was not a Christian, so he led him to Jesus. Thomas, the guide, realized he had a call on his life. He began preaching under a tree, and led half his tribe to Christ. Now, every Sunday, 200 people show up to the church an American congregation helped him build.

A mission trip was organized to support this work of God. Pastor Thomas received speakers, an amplifier and sound system, a screen, a projector, and even a motorcycle. Now he goes out to all the surrounding villages, with a pile of equipment on his motorcycle, and shows films to teach others about Jesus. Pastor Thomas is making a difference. 

A school was built. Now more than 300 children are being taught to read and write. A ministry came to dig a well to give the people clean water; each day, 1,000 people go to that well. Excess water goes to a pool where cows can come and drink. None of it is wasted. People bring their buckets and fill them up to get clean water, and hear about Jesus, the Living Water. 

This all happened because one man on safari decided he was going to make a difference and shared the gospel with his guide. God can use you and me to make a difference far beyond what we could expect or imagine. As we allow Jesus to give us courage, letting Him change our hearts and minds so that we live to the glory of God, we can make a difference. 

Pray: God, give me courage. Help me take up my mat and walk so that others might see and give glory to you. I have a history-changing, difference-making, life-giving, Spirit-empowered legacy to leave. Jesus, help me to be a difference maker in Your Name.
