[Difference Makers] Courage

DAY 1 OF 6

Be A Difference Maker

Great Work: How to Make a Difference People Love, a 2013 New York Times bestseller, described studies conducted by the O. C . Tanner Institute with Forbes Insights. The research found a fundamental mind shift in people who get groundbreaking results. People who achieve greatness have a specific mindset. Instead of seeing themselves as workers with an assignment to crank out, they see themselves as people with a difference to make. They shift to seeing themselves as people who can make an impact.

Are you one of those people? Do you have the potential to achieve greatness? In your vocation, do you see yourself as a worker with something to crank out? At home, do you see yourself as someone who is just checking items off a list? Dishes, laundry, cleaning, cooking, errands—the lists are endless. How do you see yourself? As someone completing a task, or as someone on a mission? There’s a huge difference!

This series will look at what it takes to be a difference maker. We want to be people who make an impact for Jesus. In our homes, in our schools, in our church, in our neighborhoods, in our nation, and in our world, we need difference makers.

We do not need to just elect or vote for people who can make a difference. We cannot just hire difference makers. We need to be difference makers ourselves—not just ask someone else to do it for us. God has a call and a plan for every single believer. At every age and stage, if you are alive, if He is sustaining you, then God has a difference for you to make. If you are older, you cannot dismiss His call by saying, “Been there, done that.” If you are young and do not know what to do, God still wants you to serve Him. Everyone in Christ is called to do the good works He prepared for us to do, to bring glory to Him by making a difference in this world.

Pray: I was made for more than watching. I have a history-changing, difference-making, life-giving, Spirit-empowered legacy to leave. Jesus, I ask You to work deeply in me and clearly through me as I pray, give, and go in Your love. I am a difference maker. In Your Name, Amen!

Day 2

About this Plan

[Difference Makers] Courage

Make a difference for Christ. Spiritual transformation begins with the heart, results in a changed attitude, and leads to action that motivates others to glorify God. To be a difference maker, listen to Jesus: have courage, confront sin, grow in faith, and walk in the Spirit. This six-day series will encourage and empower you to begin making a difference as you learn, pray, obey, go, and give in Christ’s love.
