21 Days To A Teenager’s Spiritual Change

DAY 20 OF 21

That's Dope!

If you are like me, then you probably pray to experience all the miracles and signs in your own life, which we read about in the Bible. You might even be a bit jealous of people in the Bible, who were the witnesses of supernatural acts of God. I bet, we all would love to see the Red Sea part, Lazarus being raised from the dead, or be a part of a story where Jesus throws the merchants out of the temple (provided that we are not the merchants).

Thank God, I can assure you of one thing. Even though the day of Pentecost (the awesome day when the Holy Spirit was sent) happened almost two thousand years ago, you and I can still experience it today.

We need to understand and not be afraid to believe that the 'regular' Christian life means miracles, spiritual interventions, and revelations. It brings love, joy, peace, and purpose. We need to understand it and not be afraid to believe that the hunger for the supernatural is in the DNA of every person that believes in Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit, that raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you, and you, and you. He lives in us and doesn't let us settle for what we can see, hear, taste, or touch. Our hearts know that there can be so much more in life than just what we can perceive through our senses. To become 'abnormal’ Christians, we need to go further than just the comfortable Christian life that we may know. We need to redefine 'normal Christianity' in a way that is according to God's perspective on normal, which says that we were called not to talk about our fears and worries, but about God who can do anything!

We should be aware of the fact that God is always pouring out His blessings on a longing heart. The question is: Do you long for it?

Prayer: God, thank you for the relationship with your Holy Spirit. That He is my Counselor. I pray that He would move more in my life. Amen.

Challenge: The Bible says we should eagerly desire the greater gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31). What do you do about it? Do you pray for it? Do you desire them? Your challenge is to read about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Read how they work, what they are characterized by, and pray for them to come into your life. If the baptism of the Holy Spirit is in accordance with your theology, but you haven't been baptized yet, pray for it, and ask your leader or pastor to pray for you as well.
