Brave to reach others

This, sisters, is the Great Commission. These are our marching orders. We are called to make God known and we are equipped to do so with the help of the Holy Spirit. 

The Great Commission is a great responsibility. And it would be easy to think “Oh, this command is for someone else, not me” because we aren’t preachers or teachers necessarily. But the Great Commission is for all of us. God knew we were right for the task, and assures us in verse 20 that He is with us now and forever. He puts people in our lives who need Him, and He uses us to make disciples.

It’s our mission, collectively. Our mission field is our homes, our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our social media, our errands, and beyond. The way we do this is by loving others the way Jesus loves them and glorifying Him in all we say and do. We can courageously accept the Great Commission. We can be brave to reach others because God is always with us. 

Father God, thank You for trusting me with this mission. Lord, when I don’t feel equipped or enough, remind me that You are always with me. Thank You, God, for empowering me to make You known in my everyday ordinary mission field. Grant me the courage to reach others for Your kingdom. Amen.
