Brave in smashing idols
If we were together having coffee and conversation right now, and you asked me if I had other gods in my life, I would most likely look at you like you had three heads. I’d be shocked, confused, and honestly, kind of offended.
But the hard truth is that there are probably other “gods,” or idols, in disguise in our lives. Anyone or anything that takes the place of God in our lives is an idol. If it has my heart more than God does, it’s an idol in my life. Idols might be a material item, a belief, a habit, a job or career goal, or a person. Anything that I go to before going to God when I’m in need of comfort, love, security, rest, joy, protection, or value, is an idol in my life.
With that realization, I am convicted to see the other gods in my life. It’s eye-opening. And, sister, it’s a good, hard truth. Because God is greater than any false idol, better than any other god, more than anything else can ever be in our lives. There is no God like our God. He fulfills our every need and loves us in ways we can’t even comprehend. And God calls us to love Him first and foremost and to worship Him alone. In order to do that, we must be brave to smash idols.
Lord, thank You for calling me Yours. Thank You for being my God. Convict my heart and show me the idols in my life. Father, help me to see the other gods that I worship, and give me the courage to smash them. Only You are worthy of all honor and praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan
There isn’t a woman on this earth who doesn’t struggle with fear, doubt, and uncertainty. Yet, through His Word, God lovingly reminds us over and over again not to live our lives in fear. Instead, He commands us to be strong and courageous…maybe even fearless. Why? Because He is with us. Joshua 1:9
