 Week Two - Day One - God Leads Me

Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible.  We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them.  Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for.  Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!

This week we are going to be looking at how God led a whole nation out of a bad situation and into freedom! 

READ:

‘The Red Sea’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 111 -  115 ) or in Exodus 14

God’s people, the people of Israel, had been slaves in Egypt for many, many years. 

God told Moses to go to the Pharaoh of Egypt and tell him to let God’s people go! 

God sent Moses with messages to Pharaoh, God helped Moses perform many miracles and eventually Pharaoh let the people of Israel go! 

Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt and God led them through the wilderness. 

By day God went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud and by night God led them in a pillar of fire! 

ASK:

Can you have a think of some ways you can see that God is leading you? 

Get creative and paint or draw a picture and don't forget to ask your grown up to share the picture with us on Facebook or Instagram. 

REMEMBER:

‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1) 

SAY:

I am an overcomer  

I can run my race

I can raise a happy sound.

My God has gives me everything

He is faithful and true,

With my eyes firmly fixed on Him

His power will get me through!
