Week One - Day Six - God is my Coach 

Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible.  We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that is God set before them.  Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for.  Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!

God blessed Abraham and Sarah…. And He blessed all of their people too! 

READ:

‘A New Home’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 39-45) or in Genesis 17. 

God gave Abraham and blessing - God said “All the land you see here will be yours FOREVER!”

AND God told Abraham that he and Sarah would have many children!!! 

Abraham and Sarah were already quite old when God told them to move!

Abraham and Sarah had faith enough to follow where God led them, but did they have faith to believe that they would have many children? 

Abraham and Sarah could see how good God had been not only to them but to all of their people too! 

God had used Abraham and Sarah’s move to their new home to bless others along the way. 

ASK:

Can you think of a time when God has used you to bless others?  

Have a chat with your grown up and talk about what this may be. 

REMEMBER:

‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1) 

SAY: 

I am an overcomer  

I can run my race

I can raise a happy sound.

His people all around.

My God has given me everything

He is faithful and true,

With my eyes firmly fixed on Him

His power will get me through!
