Courageous Humility Pt. 1Sýnishorn
Following Solomon’s prayer of dedication of the Temple of the Lord that had been built for the Lord to dwell within, we read the priests could not enter the temple because the Lord FILLED the temple. Prayer is a second way to enter into the presence of the Lord. What does our prayer life look like? Is it ushering the presence of God so full, nothing else has room to enter?
As we read Psalm 116:9, we see the Psalmist expressing he walked in the Lord’s presence as he lives here on earth. He walks. This speaks to me of the exhortation in 1 Thessalonians, to pray without ceasing, which compliments Scripture compelling us to devote ourselves to prayer with thankful hearts! Not only reserved for special times of special days but continually throughout our day.
Ladies! I pray this excites us!!! As I type this I sense God’s presence so thick and tangible, I can hardly contain myself! We only need to worship and pray to enter into the presence of the Lord. Tomorrow we will see what can happen in the presence of the Lord. Today, be encouraged to take the time to ask some questions.
Are there things in my life keeping me from worshiping the Lord?
Are there things in my life keeping me from a life devoted to prayer?
Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to take deep within our souls the understanding and wisdom and knowledge of this truth: worship and prayer will bring us into Your presence, just as it did in the days of King Solomon. You are the same today, yesterday and forever {see 13:8} and we are Your temple. You will fill us when we bring our praises, worship, and prayers before You. Lord, help us to see ALL, and I do mean ALL, keeping us from offering our praises and prayers to You on a regular and continual basis. Lord help us to begin to replace those things with a moment of worship, and word of prayer. Change us from image to image and glory to glory, within the covering of Your grace, but with the urgency needed for our lives to reflect Your glory now and others to see and know You. May we be like the psalmist and walk in Your presence as we live here on earth. In Jesus Christ’s Name we pray, Amen!
About this Plan
Be strong. Be Alert. Be Courageous. These words are the premise of this 30 day study where you will uncover God's desire for you to call out to Him and trust He will hear. Not only hear, but set you on sure footing, a path He sets before you, for your sake and the sake of those around you. From there you will dig into Scripture around what it means to courageously step into God's presence, how to do so, and what you can expect as a result of going into His presence. Finally, you will be encouraged to step towards the healing Christ offers, both individually, and as the collective Bride of Christ. Each day you will be encouraged to ask questions, seek answers in God and His Word, and identify the step YOU sense the Holy Spirit compelling you to take. Courage accompanies ACTION, and Christ reveals to us where to move next, while the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so!
