Life Experiences: Lessons From the Book of Luke

DAY 8 OF 10

A Waiting Story

If you are a tree what kind of tree will you be? If you will ask me that question I would like to be the fig tree during the time of Jesus.

Yes I am like the fig tree...God owned my life...I know that there are times He looks for my fruit but I have none. But do you know I am often frustrated with my fruitlessness. If God decides to cut me down it is just right.

BUT I am so thankful that my Mediator and my Savior, Jesus Christ, is always willing to nurture me so that I can bear fruit.

In the story the caretaker of the garden, which represented Jesus, waited for the fig tree to bear fruit for a year by nurturing it, yet the story did not say what happen. Jesus did not say whether the tree gave fruit after a year or not.

I'm thankful, yes very thankful that Jesus waited and is waiting and will wait...my story will not end until I bear fruit.

Prayer for Today: Lord God thank you that you are very patient with me. There are many times I'm not patient with myself. There could be people who are running out of patience with my frustrating attitude. Thank you that you are willing to wait until I bear good fruit...

That all I say in your Son Jesus Christ’s name...
