Breathe

DAY 10 OF 20

When it comes to expressing our emotions, we all come to it from a different place. For some of us, expressing our feelings and talking about our emotions comes easy. For others of us, it’s something we’re working to get better at as we grow and mature. And for many of us, it’s something we avoid like the plague! No matter where we come from in regards to processing and talking about our feelings, the good thing is God knows us.

Not only does He already know how we feel before we say it, but God knows how we’re wired to respond to it. He knows our best habits in facing our feelings, and He knows how we avoid or stuff them down. That means, no matter what we’re feeling or how we’re handling it, we can take it to the Lord. We can trust that God will meet us exactly where we are because He knows exactly what we need. No matter what we’re walking through, we can walk with God, who knows everything about us and loves us every step of the way.

This week, work on memorizing this verse from the Psalms. Let it be your reminder that God is with you, knows you, and will meet you exactly where you are to provide specifically what you need to manage your emotions in a healthy, helpful way.

About this Plan

Breathe

Few things in life are more important than breathing. It’s what keeps us going and living. This isn’t a devotional on the science of breathing. Instead, we’re talking about what it looks like to create breathing room in parts of our everyday lives. From faith to finances to friendship to so much more, we’re diving into the benefits of slowing down, pausing, and giving these areas of our lives room to breathe.
