31 Values to Pray for Your KidsSýnishorn
A Servant’s Heart
Christ called us to serve others with love and compassion. While some focus on self-promotion and personal gain, the call to servanthood stands as a transformative invitation to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
In Ephesians 6:7, we are encouraged to serve wholeheartedly, as if serving the Lord. This verse teaches us that our acts of service are not merely done out of obligation or recognition but as an expression of our love and devotion to God. As we teach our children to serve others with humility and sincerity, we empower them to experience joy and fulfillment as they become more like Christ.
Galatians 5:13 exhorts us to humbly serve one another in love, for the entire law is fulfilled when we keep this command. True servanthood flows from a heart grounded in love. As we model love and humility for our children, we equip them to reflect the love of Christ to the world.
In Luke 10:25-37, we will encounter the parable of the Good Samaritan, where Jesus teaches us what it means to be a neighbor through acts of compassion and selflessness. The Samaritan's willingness to care for an enemy and a stranger challenges us to break down barriers and extend love and kindness to all people, regardless of background or circumstance.
Pray:
Father, in Jesus’ name, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the example of your Son, Jesus Christ, who came not to be served but to serve. We pray for our children that you would fill them with a servant's heart and a humble willingness to serve others with love and compassion.
Grant them the grace to serve wholeheartedly, as if serving you, not people. May they find joy and fulfillment in acts of humble service, knowing that every act of love they extend to others is an offering of worship to you.
Help them humbly serve one another in love, fulfilling the law of love that you have commanded us to keep. May their lives reflect your love and grace, drawing others into your relationship and inspiring them to embrace a life of sacrificial service. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
