This I Know

DAY 4 OF 7

This I Know: God Will Change Me

There was this college student—we’ll call him Mike. During his first year in college, Mike and God weren’t buddies. However, things seemed to change the next year. One day, Mike came running up to a Christian friend on campus. “Dude! You won’t believe this,” he said breathlessly, “but I spent all night in the Word!” He was right. His friend didn’t believe him. Mike would tell his friend how he’d spent all afternoon or even all weekend in the Word. One day, Mike’s friend ran into Mike’s roommate and asked about Mike’s new Bible habit. His roommate rolled his eyes and explained, “Mike isn’t reading the Bible. He nicknamed his bed ‘The Word.’”

Come on, Mike! God’s living Word is the most powerful force on the planet. Why? Because it came out of God’s mouth. It has the power to change people. When you spend time reading God’s Word, His thoughts become your thoughts. His character becomes your character. Your mind is renewed. What about Mike? Well, he got out of bed and started actually reading the Bible. Today, he leads a ministry propelling college students out of bed and into God’s mission for their lives. God changed Mike’s heart and destiny, and He’s changing yours too.

God will change me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.

Pray: Father, let Your powerful Word speak clearly to me today. May it lead me in the way You’ve made for me. May I become the person You planned me to be. Amen.
