The God of Details Continued
We see more chapters where God gives in detail what he expects from the Israelites. Even as He was giving the instructions the people forgot God and made an idol for themselves.
From this incident we can identify how we tend to forget the God who lead us thus far when we have a change in circumstances in our life.
Unlike Aaron who made an idol we need to still follow the Lord. Moses was up in the mountain for forty days. Aaron was with Moses throughout the time God delivered them from the Egyptians but he still made an idol and told the Israelites that this was the God who brought us from Egypt. A common problem today is we follow the preachers or mentors rather than following God. When the preacher or mentor fails our life crumbles. Preachers and mentors are very important for us to have an earthly example but they not responsible for our beliefs.
We are responsible and we need to have a relationship with God that whatever happens around us, our relationship with God does not suffer. If we are in a leadership position we are doubly accountable for leading people the wrong way. Though we are not blamed we are still responsible. When we are responsible in our lives we will avoid committing sin in our lives.
