The Misplaced Priorities
Today we see a promise keeping God but His presence in our lives depends on the attitude of our hearts. This is the God of the universe talking full of love and full of hurt. We can see His love as He does not go back on His promise but we see His hurt. He decides not to go with the Israelites. We can see grace in this passage as God had showed his splendor to these people as He was still willing to keep his promise when he could have punished them or abandoned them.
We also see Moses pleading with God, that he will not leave unless God went with them. This is one of my favorite verses. It’s my go to verse when I believe God wants me to take up a new challenge. It is my hope even today. I used to be a shy girl afraid to get on stage and do anything. When God said I was accountable for every opportunity I got, I was hesitant. This was the verse which helped me make a deal with God saying if your presence is with me I will do it and God has been faithful all these years.
