DAY 15 OF 20

When you think of the name Thomas Edison, I’m sure one invention comes to mind: the lightbulb. The world went from relying on candles and dangerous gas lamps to being able to harbor electricity to illuminate a room with just the flip of a switch. However, this amazing invention came from years and years of not quite getting it right. In fact, it was reported that it took 10,000 tries before the lightbulb was a success. When asked about these failures, Edison replied, “I have not failed 10,000 times—I’ve successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.”

Sometimes failure is necessary to get us to where we need to be. We may stumble and fall in our lives, but God is always ready and willing to not only help us get back up but to step in and help us to overcome. While we may struggle with sin in our lives, we serve a God who is more powerful than any sin. Because of Him, we can continue to get back up and move forward. Where are the places in your life where sin has stopped you from moving forward? Remind yourself that with God, no sin can keep us separated from Him.

About this Plan

He Is

Getting to know someone takes time. It’s the same with our relationship with God. God doesn’t just want us to know facts about Him or only speak to Him through prayers sporadically said throughout our lives. God wants us to have a relationship with Him based on us knowing who He is. We will walk together through Scriptures that are filled with descriptions of God’s attributes and promises to help us know Him more.
