My Soul Trusts in Him

DAY 2 OF 5

Chapter 2 –Anointing That can be seen.

The Bible is full of themes and concepts hidden by God for us to discover, understand and use. And one such concept is that the anointing CAN BE SEEN or Recognised by the people around us. This recognition will facilitate and nudge us further into the journey of our blessing – to accomplish the fullest calling. Here are a few texts about different people in the Bible who went on to do great things for the kingdom of God but at some point, people were able to SEE/RECOGNISE something in them.

Moses.

Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she SAW that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

Joseph.

But his brothers hated Joseph because their father loved him more than the rest. They couldn't say a kind word to him. One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever.

Daniel and his Friends.

King Nebuchadnezzar ordered his chief of staff to bring to the palace some of the young men of Judah "Select only STRONG, HEALTHY, and GOOD-LOOKING young men. Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace…." Whenever the king consulted them in any matter requiring wisdom and balanced judgment, he FOUND them ten times more capable than any of the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.

Daniel.

Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel's great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire. Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in how Daniel handled government affairs, but they couldn't find anything to criticise or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

Jesus.

After three days, they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents SAW him, they were astonished.

What do you recognise in these few texts?

Let me tell you what I see. At some point, those people that surround the prophets, the revolutionists, and the anointed have been able to recognise the hand of God upon them; some react with honour and support, but some with jealousy and hatred. Although we cannot say how people respond to this recognition, one thing is for sure: ANOINTING CAN BE SEEN.

What do you see about yourself? What can you see in your prophetic eyes? What if David let all the rejection get to him? What if Jesus felt rejected because his brothers left him? What if Moses' mother never made that basket and put Moses on the Nile? Note Moses' mother did something in her impulse, but it was still a step ordained by God. What if Daniel and his friends gave in to the peer pressure?

We cannot let our circumstances determine our purposes. OPEN YOUR EYES and see what the Lord has in store for you.

About this Plan

My Soul Trusts in Him

Discover how you can let the confidence of your life trust in your GOD! Forget about the people, relationships, the job, world news, current affairs, and all the things that seem to slip away from our control. David says, "My soul trusts in you.... For my soul is among the lions (the Godly), and I lie among the men on fire (the prophets)..." and he strengthened himself in the lord when everyone was against him. He always went with the purposes that God put in him rather than the thoughts and strategies that the people tried to push on him. He never let the circumstances affect him, he was a man whose soul trusted in HIM!
