Real Hope: Radical TransformationSýnishorn
Eyes Opened
God knows me better than I know myself and loves me more than I can fully understand. Psalm 139 in the Bible says God knit me together in my mother’s womb and describes how God loves us. Another verse in the Bible, John 3:16, describes the depth of God’s love for us all shown through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Knowing I am loved so fully transforms how I see, hear, think, feel and interact with the world and others.
I think I was selfish in the truest sense of the word before I accepted God’s love for me. I look back over my life, and I’m so grateful that my eyes have been opened to see how God has wanted me to find His love. I’m still being changed as I learn to appreciate and discover the many different ways God’s love is being communicated.
I have come to see my incredible loving God in creation and understand more each day about how I can join in caring for the gift of the world He has given us as our home. I can hear and feel God in the words of the Bible and the big story of faith that I have joined. I learn from others as they share their lives and gifts, which allow me to see the fingerprint of God in them. Creative arts whisper of our creative God and bless my spirit. Ultimately every breath I take that gives me life is a gift from God. It is wonderful to let all the rest go and simply ask God to continue to do what I cannot, to transform my life, that my being and doing would speak the love of God I have known to others.
