Jesus Is the Ultimate Prophet, Priest and KingSýnishorn
Jesus fulfilled His task as a Prophet
“I made known to them Your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:26).
The majority of the people did not accept Jesus’ message as God’s Word. But that did not stop Him from fulfilling His prophetic task! He went on teaching and explaining, even though He knew it would cost Him His life, and His teaching bore fruit. Although many people rejected Him, others came to faith. They received Jesus’ words in their hearts and believed that He was the Messiah, the Son of God. This truth made them free. As we read in John 17:3, “This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
Jesus not only taught the truth about God with words. He also showed it by His signs and miracles. Even more, He was the truth and the life (John 14:6). As the apostle John testifies, “we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Jesus is God Himself. He perfectly knows God’s will and has the authority to make it known. Listen to Him!
Do you take Jesus’ words seriously? Do you find them relevant for your life?

About this Plan
Jesus Christ has existed from eternity as God the Son. But He came to earth to make sinful people right with God again. His salvation work can be described in three key words: He is the ultimate Prophet, Priest and King — not just during His earthly ministry, but forever. This reading plan takes 11 days to discover what these three ‘offices’ of Jesus imply.
