Hope That Restores What's Broken | a 7-Day Doxa Deo PlanSýnishorn
Hope
Romans 15: 13 ESV “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.”
The Biblical word, “hope,” means to trust that the future is for us and not against us. Hell is a place with no HOPE!
In 2 Corinthians 3:12 we read “Since we have such a hope, we are very bold…” Our hope is in God.
Hope cannot be reduced to mere wishful thinking or holding thumbs. Hope implies that we trust that God is for us; it is having joyful and confident expectation in Him.
Romans 15:13 (AMP) “May the God of hope give you joy and peace in believing that you will be filled with hope, that you will be abounding with hope, that you will be overflowing with hope for the future.”
As Christians, we are not only on the receiving end of hope, but we also have the privilege of being purveyors of hope.
1 Peter 3:15 ESV “…always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”
On a scale of 1 to 10, how much hope do you have?
How can you take the next step to allow God’s hope to fill you?
