Love God Greatly: Everlasting CovenantSýnishorn
We forget. Every week, every day, we forget the goodness of God and all He has done for us. We fill life so full that we leave little room for God. We don’t read His Word the way we should, we don’t meditate on who He is and what He has done the way we should, and we don’t go before His throne in prayer the way we should.
But God! He never forgets. He thinks specifically of each of His children every day and cares for them. There is never a day that goes by where God does not think of you. He makes promises and He keeps them. Every promise you find in Scripture the Lord will keep. He wanted Noah, and all who come after him, to remember this, and so He placed a sign in the sky. From that day forward Noah would not forget the promise that God would never destroy the earth through a global flood. Instead, God will preserve His creation until He comes again and makes all things new. Whenever you see a rainbow remember how God continues to keep the promise He made with Noah. It is a promise for all generations.
Thank You, Lord for being a promise keeper. We can rely on Your Word because You do what You say. Help us to remember the promise You made with Noah every time we see a beautiful rainbow displayed in the sky and help us to be better promise keepers to You as well. Amen.
