Love God Greatly: Jesus Our Everything

DAY 21 OF 30

When a boat is properly anchored, it will not be moved by changes in the current or sudden gusts of wind. When a boat is not properly anchored, it will drift away at the slightest change in conditions. It is not the boat’s grip on the anchor that keeps the anchor from moving, but rather, the grip of the anchor on the sea floor.

In our Christian faith, our anchor is Christ. Our anchor is secure because of who He is. We are not dependent upon our own grip on our faith, our feelings, doubts, or even actions. Christ alone is what secures our faith. We when we cling to Him, we will not waver.

Our Christian community is an irreplaceable asset in our faith. The author of Hebrews exhorted his readers to continue to encourage each other, meet with one another, and love one another. When we are active in communities of faith we can help each other remain diligent in our faith, encouraging and building one another up so we will not waver.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my anchor. I am confident in my faith because my faith rests in Your hands, not my own. Help me be an encouragement to my community. Open my eyes to see ways I can encourage, love, and build up my brothers and sisters in Christ so we may all remain close to You. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: Jesus Our Everything

Jesus Our Everything is a 6-week Bible study on the Book of Hebrews. As we study and meditate on the supremacy of Christ, we seek to have our lives transformed by Him. He alone is worthy of our praise. He alone is worthy of our affection. He is our everything. All our hope is in Him.
