Proclaiming The Gospel Of Jesus ChristSýnishorn
THE UPSIDE-DOWN GOSPEL
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
It is not easy to be a Christian. The Lord never promised us that it would be a bed of roses. In fact, He said, “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.” Mark 8:34
This is what I want to talk to you about today – the upside-down Gospel. In the world they teach you that you’ve got to go for it, you’ve got to get everything you can, you’ve got to grab it. You’ve got to trample on people to get to the top. That is a natural inclination among people, almost a defence mechanism to be better than everyone else.
It’s a natural thing to survive, to strive to be the best, to have the most, to be the greatest, to be the strongest, to be the most beautiful, or to be the richest. But Jesus says in His kingdom it works the other way around. If you want to be the first, you have to be the last.
Lord Jesus, help me to deny myself and carry my cross for You. Help me to be the least. Amen.
