21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Lectio DivinaIhe Atụ
Preparation: Today, you’ll be reading from 1 Samuel 17:41-47. Before you begin, take a moment to breathe deeply. Release any tension from your body, clear your mind from distracting thoughts, and set your attention on God’s presence.
Read: The first step is to read. As you read the passage the first time, pay attention to words or phrases that catch your attention and write them down.
Reflect: This time, reflect on the passage. As you read a second time, make a note of what emotions stir up. Which character in the story do you resonate with?
Respond: Now respond. As you reread the passage, start a conversation with the Lord. What is He saying to you through this text? What do you need to say back to Him?
Rest: Finally, rest in God's presence. As you prepare for the remainder of this day, spend a few minutes in silence meditating on God’s Word.
Pray: Take a moment to pray on your own or use this prayer as a guide:
Lord, I thank you that in the same way you gave strength to David, you give strength to me. Help me to always rely on you in times of need and to know that I can always approach difficult times in the name of the Lord, amen.
