The Jesus Adventure

ỤBỌCHỊ 4 NKE 7

We must understand that Jesus wants us to be steadfast in this calling, walking this journey with Him, ready and able to stand firm for the long haul. This is not a sprint; it’s a race that we run with endurance. Even though we are much closer to His return now than when this all began, we cannot defeat the forces of darkness in a frenzy. We will defeat them on God’s terms, with His power. As we go forward, we want to remember what Jesus said:

“Learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:29, ESV).

No part of the apprentice training for Jesus’ adventure is more vital to sustaining the power of God than catching this powerful truth of being refreshed and strengthened from Heaven. The rest is the design of the Father and the passion of Jesus to give us rest for our souls. Consider how God has given the principle of rest for His people from the very beginning of time.

Today, let's take a look at three key things Jesus prayed for us in John 17:13, John 17:20, and John 17:23.

In these excerpts, Jesus is telling us that He wants us to be filled with His full measure of everlasting joy and that He specifically includes us today in that prayer. This is so often misunderstood by the religious crowd! This is the incredible thing God has planned as the “foretaste of glory divine” that the holy people of God used to sing about.

So, be steadfast with Jesus to discover a powerful source of eternal renewal in the New Creation.
