Evangelism: Helping You Answer the Tough Questions

ỤBỌCHỊ 1 NKE 6

Evangelism can be intimidating, but it doesn’t need to be. This reading plan will help you think about sharing the Gospel in a new way. Evangelism isn’t about being polished and profound; it is about introducing someone to God, who loves them and wants the best for them. We need to help them understand that they can find everything they crave and the things they are searching for in Him. Love, peace, hope, joy, forgiveness, purpose, even eternal life are all found in Jesus Christ.

The key to making this introduction is understanding what the person needs and wants. They may not ask the question out loud, but they live their life searching for the answer. When you have discernment, you can address their underlying need and Jesus will become relevant to them.

Jesus experienced this in John Chapter 4, when He met a woman craving acceptance and hope. As He started a conversation with her, He ignored all of the things that could have divided them and offered her what she truly needed. “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water” (John 4:10).

She was going about her day, not seeking a spiritual voice, but Jesus interrupted her activity and offered her acceptance and hope: “I see you. I accept you, and I can meet your spiritual needs.”

Every day, we walk past people who are “living their best life,” but behind their masks, they are seeking answers to very meaningful questions. They might not be able to articulate them, but those questions drive their behaviors, influence their decisions, and determine their direction.

The amazing thing is that God wants to meet their needs and answer their questions. His answers are transformational, comforting, empowering, and they lead to eternal life.

If we listen to the Holy Spirit’s whispers, we will get a glimpse into what their real questions are, and we will be able to introduce them to the One with all the answers.
